Glen Correll, Director of Coaching of OCSL, started his soccer career as a child at recreation programs. He has been with OCSL since its inception. Glen was voted DOC because of his ability to spot coaches that can work well with the children and are able to teach what the OCSL philosophy is. He feels club ball offers a lot, but that a lot of hidden talent comes out of the YMCA and other recreation leagues. Glen is also an 08 certified referee.
Jeff Safrit serves as the Junior’s Liaison of OCSL. Jeff has also been with OCSL since induction. Jeff was not introduced to soccer until his daughter began playing. He volunteered to assist in coaching and quickly became very knowledgeable and a useful teacher to the children. He acts on behalf of the children and does excellent work in ensuring the children have a wonderful time yet are still gaining benefit, both knowledge and love-of-the-game, from practices and games
.
Kyle Neal started coaching with OCSL in 2007 and is heavily involved in the program. His love and passion for the game and for children makes him a valued asset to OCSL, earning him the position Assistant Director of Coaching. The kids just know him as Top Coach Cookie Monster (compliments of Trinity Raven). His soccer career began at age 9 where he played with a club until he was 12 and then moved to Japan and was introduced to fast-paced attacking soccer. Matt Biles was found on the side of the road in a straw hat and torn jeans….but he seemed like a nice guy and the kids like him…so far…
Stephen is coaching in his 4th season at OCSL after recently completing his senior season at Frostburg State University in Western Maryland. With two semesters of school left he is returning to Frostburg in the fall and is currently being considered for the head coaching job at one of the local high schools. Amy joined OCSL in 2009 as an assistant coach. Never having played Amy was very nervous about starting in this role. She quickly learned that it is as much about having fun and passion as it is about knowledge. During the head coach’s absence, she coached her team to their first victory of the season. She is passionate about the game and loves the children. She and her son are a great addition to our team.
